Types of Telepathy

Telepathy, the ability to transmit information without the use of the normal senses is grouped in various ways. According to one classification, there are three types of telepathy: mental, physical, and emotional telepathy, according to the information that is being sent from one person to another. Another classification groups the types of telepath as latent, precognitive, emotive and super conscious telepathy. A third classification groups the types of telepathy as instinctual, mental and intuitional telepathy. The second classification, however, is the most widely used of all the categories.

Latent telepathy involves the transmission of energy and information, whether physical, emotional or psychological from person to person with a corresponding time lag between the time when the message was sent and when it was received. Precognitive telepathy deals with the transmission of information about the future. Emotive telepathy, also known as remote transfer, involves the transfer of sensation through altered senses.

Another specific type of telepathy is twin telepathy, which is the kind of communication present between twins. This is often seen in the way most twins seem to feel hungry at the same time, or in some cases when one twin can feel the same feelings felt by the other twin even though both are not in the same location at that point in time. Twin telepathy is strongest in the infancy stage, although the ability of twins to communicate or think alike can remain until adulthood and can last a lifetime.

A recent development is “techlepathy” or cyber telepathy, which is the ability to transmit messages through technological means.
