Skepticism on Distant Readings

Distant reading has no recorded history on where, when, and how it started, though some people believe that it has evolved from other methods of psychic reading.

This form of getting vibrations to be able to provide answers to people’s questions about their lives and to try to see through the future makes use of no instrument such as tarot cards, astrology charts, or numbers. There are no strict governing rules to facilitate its use, and no face-to-face interaction is required between the psychic and the person who is requesting for distant readings.

The only explanation on how psychics manage to get answers to their clients’ questions and predict their clients’ future is that they have abilities to detect psychic vibrations that tell them about the present and the future. These psychic vibrations are hidden to the ordinary senses, and are only accessible with the use of extrasensory perception or ESP.

Because of this lack of concrete grounds on this method of psychic reading, a lot of skeptics believe that distant readings are basically fraudulent. These people are skeptical about the “abilities” of these psychics, and the possibility of predicting the future only because of vibrations. Almost all of them believe that this whole thing is utterly nonsense, further arguing that predictions are only guesses. “Accurate” predictions are perceived by skeptics to be coincidental. These skeptics also believe that once a “reading” is proved to be inaccurate, believers of distant readings only consider them as “managed by an effort to intervene with fate.”
