Psychokinesis

The saying that you can do anything if you put your mind to it rings bizarrely true when one talks about psychokinesis. The ability to move objects with a force coming only from the mind is aptly termed psychokinesis. The term borrows from the Greek's psyche meaning mind, matter, or heart and kinesis translating to motion. History is littered with accounts of individuals who have been able to exhibit psychokinetic powers yet as advancements in science and technology grew, so did the number of skeptics. However, psychokinesis still remains as one of the most interesting abilities that one could hope for.

Psychokinetic people

There have been a number of individuals who have been able to demonstrate psychokinetic abilities. One of the most famous people who have gained fame in recent years was Uri Geller who claimed to be able to bend spoons by the sheer force of his mind. Other individuals can also do similar acts such as being able to bend otherwise hard to deform objects.

Eusapia Palladino was a famed spiritualist medium whom many claimed exhibited strong psychokinetic powers that she could levitate and elongate herself. Even renowned scientists at that time such as Marie and Pierre Curie were awed by her abilities.

Swami Rama, the founder of the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy, is also a famous individual who exhibited psychokinetic abilities. His ability to control otherwise autonomous bodily functions such as heartbeat, breathing, and even blood flow impressed even experts. He was one of the first swamis to have allowed experts to study him.
