Numerological Divination

Since the principal belief in numerology is that numbers have their own meanings and that these meanings affect human life and other processes in the universe, numerology is often used to determine the future and help people make the most of the meanings attached to the numbers representing them.

Numerological divination is considered as one of the metaphysical sciences concerned with divination arts, along with astrology (which deals with celestial bodies such as stars and planets). The underlying principle in the belief that numerology can be used in divination is the concept that everything has purpose and meaning. Those who are into numerological divination believe that the “truth” about life and about life and the world is out there, waiting to be unfolded through different things. In numerology, these “revelation agents” are numbers.

People often make use of numbers considered as lucky in numerology to be able to ensure success and happiness. Lucky numbers such as 168, 888, and 99 in Chinese numerology are among the most commonly used numbers for businessmen, Chinese or not. People believe that using numbers such as these attracts positive energy and helps their businesses, careers, and love and social lives prosper.

Number 168 in Chinese numerology denotes prosperity; 888 denotes triple prosperity; and 99 denotes eternity.

Similarly, some numbers are often avoided to veer away from bad luck. Among these numbers are 4 (considered as the number of death and suffering in Chinese numerology) and 666 (considered as the number of the devil or the number of the Beast in Biblical numerology).
