History of Psychokinesis

Psychokinesis and other unexplained phenomena have always baffled people since the dawn of time. Some paranormal experts even claim that what went down in history such as miracles had some amount of psychokinesis or psi involved. From religious and spiritual aspects to scientific and military uses, psychokinesis has been of interest to many people throughout history.

Psychokinesis in religion and culture

Psychokinesis has always been chronicled in different religions and cultures. The Catholic Bible for one showcases many instances that could now be attributed to individuals who have psychokinetic powers. One example of this is when St. Paul and Silas prayed and meditated while in prison in Ephesus. At midnight, their shackles fell off and the prison doors opened. Psychokinesis has also been attributed to evil spirits such as the devil and other restless entities.

Psychokinesis in the 20th century

As science and technology progressed, reasonable explanations and answers have been found for many baffling questions. People with pyschokinetic powers however still had the cloud of mystery veiling their abilities. Psychokinesis then became a novelty, an entertainment act, or just an object of fascination.

Psychokinesis in research

Interest in psychokinesis picked up when the US learned of the Soviet Union's experiments using gifted people to spy. The US purportedly spent enough funds to perform tests and experiments on people with clairvoyant, pychokinetic powers. However, all those research and time spent in developing psychokinetic and clairvoyant abilities for military and intelligence use proved to be inconclusive. Now, psychokinesis and other paranormal phenomena still have yet to be explored to be of any significance in society.
