History of Psychic Channeling
There are many people who are very interested in psychic channeling. For some, psychic channeling is a way to gather information that could guide them in making decisions. There are others who use psychic channeling to communicate with the spirits of their dead loved ones. It is even said that some law enforcement agencies use psychics to help them in solving some crimes.
Psychic channeling is, however, not new. This system actually existed thousands of years ago. In the earliest civilizations, psychic mediums existed in the form of priests, priestesses, seers or prophets, and shamans. These psychic mediums were highly respected especially during the time of the great civilizations. The veneration people attributed to psychic mediums is reflected in some literary works that came down from the early civilizations. In Homer’s Iliad, for instance, you will see that great leaders consulted the oracles first before making any decisions in certain issues concerning war.
The study of the paranormal field including psychic mediums was welcomed in some universities because of the effort of Joseph Banks Rhine to approach the paranormal field in a scientific way, such as conducting research and series of tests to prove that extrasensory perception really exists.
Throughout history, there are many psychic mediums who have etched their names not just in the field of the paranormal, but in history in general because of their predictions that were said to came true. One of them is Nostradamus who lived in the latter part of the Dark Ages and made many predictions. Among these predictions are the war in Iraq, the 9/11 terrorists attack in the US, and various presidential assassinations.
