Clairvoyants and Other Types of Psychics

A person who is able to perceive things that are not normally picked up by the five basic senses is called a clairvoyant. However, there are different classifications of clairvoyance, depending on what medium one uses or which “sense” one is able to grasp messages from the other side with.

Though gifted ones may be born with clairvoyant abilities, there are those who make use of tools and materials to help them channel their powers. One of the most famous tools of clairvoyants is the deck of tarot cards. Tarot psychics make a clairvoyant reading of a person based on what comes out of the cards dealt to them. There are also those clairvoyants and other type of psychics who believe that a person's life is inscribed in one's palms. Palm-reading psychics are also fairly common. Psychics and clairvoyants can also use other tools of divination such as crystals and maps for scrying, astrology signs and symbols, runes, tea leaves, and even bones.

Though clairvoyants perceive things that the five basic senses cannot detect, the methods of how they receive these perceptions are actually through heightened senses. Some clairvoyants can hear voices from the spiritual plane and even the thoughts of people through their “inner ear” or heightened sense of hearing. Called clairaudients, this type of clairvoyants serve as interpreters or mediums who relay messages from the other side to people involved. Some clairvoyants can also “feel” certain emotions and feelings felt by other people. This ability to empathize to an exact level as that of the person or spirit makes it easier for the psychic-empath to relay messages.
