Astrology in Popular Culture
Astrology has remained popular throughout the decades. For many decades, newspapers and magazine include a section on horoscopes. Websites dedicated to astrology and horoscopes were also launched. The popularity of astrology is also seen through the large number of searches done on the topic using the popular search engines. Books were also published by expert astrologers to educate those who are interested in the topic.
According to studies, the portion of the population that believes in astrology is largely composed of women. This may be primarily due to women's inclination towards culture, arts, mystery and divination studies. Women who believe in astrology are also interested in knowing more about the romantic aspects of astrology and the horoscope, particularly their astrological compatibilities.
The popularity of astrology increases when the year is about to end and at the beginning of the year. During these months, the people are planning their future and are consulting the astrologers on what to do and what not to do for the following year. The people who believe in astrology also ask about their lucky dates, objects and colors for the following year.
The same is also true for the Chinese astrology. However, since the beginning of the Chinese year is by the end of January or the beginning of February, this is the time when the people's interest in Chinese astrology becomes greater. Even those who do not consult the horoscope on a day-to-day basis check out articles on horoscopes at the beginning of each year.
